No, no it isn't.
I believe in a kind and loving God. I believe in a forgiving God. I believe in a God who loves his children all the same, no matter what they have done. And I believe in a God who gives us all a purpose.
That being said, I believe in kindness. I believe in respect. Above all, I believe in the happiness of others.
I have seen many posts hating on the Bruce-Cailyn transformation, using the idea that God doesn't make mistakes. This is true, he doesn't. I don't think that this was a mistake. Bruce Jenner did something that did take courage, and he set an example for the transgender community everywhere. (I'm going to refer to Jenner as a she in this article because that's how she chooses to identify.)
Did you know that the attempted suicide rate for the transgender community is 41%? Forty-one percent. That is a staggering rate. Caitlyn Jenner sent a message to the mass transgender community that you shouldn't have to hide who you are. If you don't feel comfortable in the skin you were given, don't spend your life hating yourself. Free yourself from that misery and discomfort. Become who you want to be, don't be afraid of what people will think.
And everyone will have their own opinions about the matter. People will hate you without knowing you, and they will hide behind God and use him as an excuse to condemn you and judge you. That is the biggest flaw I find in religion. Everyone is so fixated on the actions of others, they need to stop and take a look in the mirror. John 8:7 “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” If you're a perfect human being, by all means, fix me. Point out every flaw of mine. Be my guest. But the catch is, no one is perfect. We all have heard this, yet we somehow think we are worthy enough to say who is wrong, who is right, what others can or cannot do?
My last point is the freedom on which America was founded. I am grateful that I was born and raised in a free country. I think we forget that America was founded on freedom. Freedom shouldn't just apply to those who agree with or share the same beliefs as you. If that were the case, how could we call this a free country? Keeping that in mind, even if you believe that what Caitlyn did was wrong, she had every right to. She was born with the right to. So let's show some respect. Let's be happy for her happiness. At the end of the day, we are all entitled to our own opinions, but let's respect those who we don't agree with and love them anyway.
